Thumb Designs was founded by Tom Back, carpenter and furniture designer with over 20 years experience. Tom worked as a joiner and a set carpenter for TV and film, before gaining a degree in Product and Furniture Design from Kingston University. Tom then worked for leading design agencies as a client facing project manager, before founding his own design studio.
Tom has worked at the forefront of furniture and exhibition design for clients including: Kensington Palace, Raw TV, Adidas, Selfridges and Liberty.
We design, make and install fitted and freestanding furniture for all areas of the home and garden.
We begin with a consultation to discuss your ideas and plans, advising on materials and finishes to suit your requirements.
A 3D design is then created detailing all elements of the piece and is supplied with samples of selected materials. We have a range of trusted suppliers, ensuring consistent levels of quality.
Furniture is designed and made in our South London studio workshop.
